One of the core practices of our community is Learning and so we try to find different ways to work this out.
On 2nd & 3rd May 2025 we're planning a pilgrimage, picking up sections of the recently created Athelstan Pilgrim Way in Wiltshire. More details to follow, but visit their website to find out a little more.
The plan will look similar to 2024 (details below) where we have two days, of which you can join either or both, beginning with morning prayer, pausing for midday prayer and an early evening prayer, before having a meal together in Cheltenham.
In May 2024 our pilgrimage - a walk - followed parts of one of the ancient pilgrimage trails, St Kenelm's Way. As we travelled we shared faith and life as we walked and talked together. The walk was two days of approximately 10-miles each.
The format for the days looked something like this:
Day 1 - Friday 3 May
9am Morning Prayer @ St. John the Baptist, Fladbury
10.00am Section 1 - Approx 6.5 miles
12.30pm Lunch & Midday Prayer - St Barbara's, Ashton-Under-The-Hill
2.00pm Section 2 - Approx 3 miles
4.00pm Early Evening Prayer - St. Peter's, Dumbleton,
4,30pm Finish.
7pm Shared meal together in Cheltenham
Day 2 - Saturday 4 May
9am Morning Prayer @ St. Peter's, Dumbleton
10.00am Section 1 - Approx 6 miles
12.30pm Lunch & Midday Prayer - Hailes Abbey, nr Winchcombe
2.00pm Section 2 - Approx 4 miles
4.00pm Early Evening Prayer - St. Peter's, Winchcombe,
4,30pm Finish.
